To say the last 5 years has been a whirlwind of ups and downs is a GIANT understatement. Since last I made an entry my husband had to start his own company in the middle of the pandemic, our faith was definitely tested by many family members being diagnosed with cancers & near death complications, Madison underwent Scoliosis surgery, I gave birth to identical twin girls, we gained full custody of my stepson, and Madison has graduated from high school.
We have finally come out the other side stronger as a family unit and being better disciples in our faith. Through our trials we all came to realize that we would not have survived without His grace on us. Not to say that we don’t still have our challenges as everyone will have throughout this life but we have the strength to handle them as a family instead of trying to control the situations as individuals.
Madison is now attending a special needs trade school and social environment at My Possibilities in Plano, Texas. I cannot say enough wonderful things about them to make how much joy they have brought my girl. She is learning life skill, social skills, and making heartwarming friendships. Each day that she goes her smile radiates the room. When I drop her off she skips into the building and if one of her friends is being dropped off at the same time they always come together for a hug before walking in together. One of my dreams for her since she was born has come true and I’m so grateful.
Emma is now 7 years old and has begun 2nd grade. She is smart, kind, always on the go, a fierce friend, stubborn like her momma, and crazy at times like her daddy. We are learning how to navigate her through her education with her having an ADHD & Dyslexia diagnosis. Since her daddy and I both have dyslexia she seems to have inherited both of our problems in the spectrum and with her ADHD (also from daddy) makes it a lot more difficult for her to focus when she becomes frustrated when she mixes up letters and numbers. After voicing this concern for over 2 years to the school they have finally begun the evaluation we are praying the her high intellectual level of articulation does not cloud them to the fact of how much trouble she is having reading on her own. To be continued once all the data is in.
And yes…I really did become pregnant (total shock) at 41 years old with identical girls. So we are now a family with 4 girls and our one poor boy stuck in the middle of them all. They are now 2 years old and from the womb to present day they can’t stand each other 95% of the time. Seriously! I cannot leave the room for more than 30 seconds without hearing a bloodcurdling scream coming from one or the other because Makenna or Kiera has attacked the other.
Needless to say the chaos is still in full swing with no signs of calming anytime soon but our family of 7 feels like perfection.
